Some of the most rewarding design work comes from helping families celebrate life’s biggest milestones. For this private commission, a client was celebrating his 50th birthday and treated his entire family to a trip to Thailand. He wanted to give each family member a deeply personal book of memories to remember their time together.
His brief called for a funky, high-energy photo album style packed with color and life. I designed a loose, casual layout filled with tropical tones, small visual embellishments, and personal anecdotes, creating a vibrant keepsake that the family was absolutely thrilled with.
What the project involved:
- Custom Cover Art & Theme: Designed a vibrant, tropical cover featuring iconic silhouettes and bright lighting effects to instantly set a vacation mood.
- Dynamic Album Layouts: Created a fast-paced, high-energy layout structure that breaks away from rigid margins to mimic a handcrafted scrapbook.
- Candid Storytelling Elements: Integrated personal notes, custom map snippets, and digital post-it style anecdotes directly alongside the vacation photos.
- Multi-Copy Print Production: Handled the file organization and print setup to ensure multiple matching high-quality, hard-cover books were produced for the family.
